CALACS Newsletter
Rosario Gomez – Editor
The CALACS Newsletter has been published since the establishment of the Association in 1969. Its purpose is to provide members with information about the activities of the Association and with announcements and information relevant to the field of Latin American and Caribbean studies.
The Newsletter is published twice yearly, normally in January and September. Messages from the Association President and the Journal Editor keep the membership informed of the workings of the Association. News from the office of the Canadian Council of Area Studies Learned Societies (CCASLS) informs members of their relationships with the African, Asian, and Middle Eastern studies associations. Announcements of research funding, job openings, study opportunities, and the like provide career-building information. News about member activities help form and maintain connections.
